Vin # 9288101003 928: model designation 8: 1978 model year 1: row market 0: coupe 1003: serial number evolve motors & chicago car club are pleased to present this 1978 porsche 928! This is a car we’re very excited about. With the bulbous, spoiler-free rear end, dogleg five speed manual transmission, sunroof-delete, and excellent silver over pinstripe color combo, this is certainly a special car. We love the bullet-like shape of these early cars, it’s a very clean and sleek design. The car gets attention everywhere it goes, whether that be from enthusiasts who recognize it as an early euro, or bystanders who are struck by the car’s unique shape. Exterior: the car wears a respray of it’s original z2 silber metallic. The finish is nice, but isn’t without a few imperfections. Blemishes include a light scuff on the front lower driver door crease, a couple touched-up small scratches on the driver door, a mark on the rear bumper from where the previous owner had stuck a porsche crest sticker, and a bit of a rash around the key holes on the doors and at the top corner of the passenger side tail light. Rubber window trim isn’t in great shape, and the rear quarter window trim shows some fading. It’s a non-sunroof car, which we really like. It adds to the clean, uninterrupted lines of the car. Aside from the aforementioned blemishes, the silver paint shows very, very well. Rock chipping is really only present on the black trim around the windshield. Original phone dial wheels are in nice shape, with no curb rash and just some slight weathering. The body is in excellent shape, with no dents or dings. This car retains its original singular side mirror look, which only adds to the bullet-like shape of the car. Black front spoiler is in excellent shape, with no cracks or damage. Seats are in very nice condition, with just a couple small tears on the upper outside bolster of the driver's seat. Pinstripe centers on the front seats are in great shape, but do show a bit of age by way of a very slight green hue. Rear seats and door panels are excellent. Rear seats fold down in these early cars, opening up space for a massive cargo carrying capacity. Original blaupunkt stereo is in place, though not currently functional. Heat and front and rear defrost are functional, air conditioning blows but is not cold. Front and rear wipers work, as do all lights (inside and out) and signals. Power windows are functional, though the button has to be pushed down with some force. Dash is in very nice shape; there’s a crack at the top right corner of the glovebox, but the forward-most portion of the dash is free of any cracks. There are a lot of cool features to the interior of these cars; the whole gauge cluster moves up and down, not just the steering wheel, and the door panels have a very clever fold-out storage area. All gauges are functional. The car will come with a set of 928s floor mats, though not original to the car. The sill plate on the driver’s side has been colored in gold, while the passenger side sill plate remains the correct silver. Under the car/hood: the underbody is in very nice condition, with no through rot. Rust is limited to surface rust at the corner of the battery tray, nothing of concern. Floors and rockers are in excellent shape. The car retains its original 4. 5l v8 and 5spd manual transmission, with just over 67,000 miles. The car runs and drives quite well, with just a couple tendencies to be aware of. Power Windows✔ Air Conditioning✔ Sunroof/Moonroof

1981 porsche 928 - chicago, ilevolve motorschicago, il 60618ph: 7732672684web: www. Evolve-motors. Comoptions:description:1981 porsche 928s euro-market early s zinnmetallic / black 60, 711 miles vin # wp0zzz92zbs84114 evolve motors and chicago car club are pleased to present this 1981 porsche 928s! This is a car we’re very excited about. There are a number of cars that we’re constantly on the hunt for, and the 928 is right up near the top of that list. A couple months ago we were tipped off about an early 928s sitting on blocks in a chicago garage; we got in touch with the owner and were surprised to hear that the car was actually a euro-market car, and had “ran when parked” 24 years ago. The owner had no plans for the car, so we offered to buy it. We’ve spent the last couple months getting the car back into shape and we’re now offering it for sale. Exterior: when we got the car, the exterior was in need of some attention. There were two dents (lower driver door, passenger rear quarter) that we had repaired with paintless dent removal. There were also a couple spots where the paint was peeling – the side trim and rear bumper. We removed the trim and resprayed it, as well as the rear bumper. The rest of the car wears an older respray of the correct zinnmetallic. We initially had thought the paint was original, but then we hit every body panel with an elcometer and saw readings of 9. 0-12. 0 all around, which would indicate a respray. The paint does show well, though it is showing its age a bit. There’s some light cracking on the nose, as well as a small blister on the passenger door (see photo). The glue behind the trim has eaten away slightly at the paint just above rear-most driver’s side trim (see photo). While there are a few signs of age, the car presents very well overall. Interior: powered driver's seat works, as does the blaupunkt sound system, heat, and defrosters. The dash is in good shape as well, with no cracks. Leather seats are extremely comfortable and are tear-free, though they are showing their age by way of loose leather and some discoloring. All dash text is in german, which just adds to the car’s character. Odometer reading of 60,711 miles is accurate; the odometer was converted from kilometers to miles on 12/16/1985, when it read 34,958km (21,848 miles). When we got the car, the interior needed a thorough cleaning. We had the carpets shampooed, leather and dash scrubbed, and the vents/lines cleared of all evidence of critters. It now looks and smells as it should, not like a car that’s been sitting. All glass is clear and free of cracks or chips. Front and rear hatch struts were just replaced and hold up well. Under the car/hood: the underbody is in good shape, with no through rot of any sort. Rust is limited to light surface rust on a few components, nothing of concern. We did not do a belt service after taking the car out of long-term storage, that will be on the next owner to decide if/when to do so. We flushed the car’s fluids, put in a battery and fuel pump relay, and the car runs /drives well. It always starts first turn, and idles low and quiet. We’ve only driven the car about 20 miles since taking possession a couple months ago, but during those drives the car has felt very solid and confidence-inspiring. It pulls hard, automatic transmission shifts smoothly and on-time, and brakes straight and consistently. No noises or tendencies of concern. While in long-term storage the car was stored on blocks, so there are no flat spots on the tires but they are a bit dry. For additional info, please feel free to reach out to jake at 773-267-2684.
