This is a T Top car with a rebuilt stock 301 4.9 Liter Turbo Motor. Turbo wasrebuilt along with the carburetor and transmission. The interior was redone afew years back and is in fair condition. New circuit board for the The car runs and drives smoothly. The body is straight withminor surface rust. The paint and decals would need to be redone sometime downthe road. The car looks good but not super fast and would be a great car for astudent or father and kid bonding. The car is registered non op and all fees butsmog are current. With a little TLC, the car could be perfect.

The first owner is not know, but the second owner was a lady who purchased the car in 1970 where she lived in st. She had kept all receipts and documents of repairs done on the car from 1970 to when we purchased it in 1998.

1988 pontiac firebired formula t-top. The car is in supernice condition in and out. The best part is this has a built 383 stroker engine. A beefed up 700r4 trans with a shift kit, and a posi rear with 3:70 gears. Waspro built using an eagle stroker kit. Has a large aluminum radiator. Veryimpressive power. Has run 12. 9 at the track with drag radials. This was mostly street driven an has good manors in traffic. The wholedrivetrain has approx 10,000 miles. Clean, rustfree under body. Real nicerepaint several years ago and retains all the stock decals. All the bottom edgeshave no bubbles. Good, straight body, all panel gaps look great. No evidence ofleaks from the t-tops. All weather stripping in good condition. Niceoriginal interior. One little one inch wearspot on drivers seat base, other than that real nice. Minor headliner sag in therear. Have the original t-top bags. Some of the a/c components like thecompressor and drier and lines have been removed as this is a hot rod. Air Conditioning

Exterior: this car is a perfect example of a “ten footer”. While the paint does show well and shows little signs of age, with only very minor chipping (edges of the doors), the paint job was not done to a very high standard. However, the good thing is that the car was originally gold over camel tan. There is evidence under the hood of a previous paint job in red, but the gold that the car currently wears is the correct color. Firebird hood decal is in great shape. The body is in nice shape, with no dents or dings to note, other than a spot on the driver’s side rear wheel well where the car appears to have been scuffed by what we assume to be a garage wall. That spot was touched up, but it is still visible. Chrome trim is very nice throughout. Interior: the interior is in nice shape. The dash has no cracks in it, and the seats are free of any tears, burst seams, or fading. Steering wheel has a leather cover on it, and is fairly worn underneath. There is a scratch on the center console. Radio, fan, and headlights are not functioning. Power windows, wipers, turn signals, and all gauges are functional. A/c has not been converted to r134a. Windshield is clear and crack free, with no wiper streak. Side windows have some light scratches on them. Under the hood / underbody: the five-digit odometer reads 15,260, though largely irrelevant considering the fact that the engine is not the original unit. The car was originally optioned with the 150hp w-code 301cid 4-bbl v8, but has since been swapped out for the more powerful (220hp, 320lbft) 6. 6l 400cid 4-bbl pontiac v8. The underbody looks very nice, with no through rust of any sort. Please take a good look through the photos, as the underbody is documented in detail. Frame rails, rockers, and floors are all excellent. The car will run nice and cool, but we would not yet consider this car a reliable routine driver. It will start, run, and drive fine, but there are some things that should be ironed out. Tires should be replaced before being driven at highway speeds, given that there is some dry rot on a couple of them, and a brake service should be performed, as the pedal is a bit mushy. Automatic transmission feels good, the car shifts on time and without any bucking or noises of concern. Overall, this is a nice-looking trans am that would serve as an excellent starting point for a drive-and-tinker project. While it could use some minor sorting, the car has a rock solid foundation and there is a lot to like about it.
